The fact that children cannot concentrate enough at school could have different reasons.

The child is hyperactive. You will clearly notice, if it is not capable of sitting still for five minutes. It is not able to listen properly. The inability of taking in information often leads to failure at school. Often children do not even know what their homework is. A further cause could be dyslexia. The diagnosis of whether a reading and writing disability is given can only be determined by means of a dyslexia test.

How can we help?

1. Clarification: What is attention deficit disorder (ADD)
2. Parents should verify the following questions.
   Can we exclude organic causes? Is the child able to hear and see well? What about the child's nutrition? How much does it drink? Does it get enough sleep? Does it get enough movement?
3. Parent coaching: How should everyday life be structured to ease the child's burden?
4. What kind of help is necessary and possible?
5. HT therapy: The child learns to concentrate and to structure.
